The Yoga Path

The word yoga means "union" in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where yoga originated. So think about the union occurring between the mind, body and spirit.
Earlier i used to think that yoga is nothing but meditation but when i actually got involved i understood that its about creating balance in the body and soul and eventually you develop the strength and flexibility in your body and mind.

Now its been 6 months i have been practicing Yoga @ Dhriti Studio b'lore and eventually built great interest in it. Here i would like to thank my Yoga instructor Satya and my fellow yoga practitioners. During session we all try different different poses and its like a challenge to do it correctly.

The amazing thing about yoga is that your practice is always evolving and changing, so it never gets boring. While practicing my instructor always say "Stay in respective pose" and it becomes so difficult to control the body weight for such a long time but now i am understanding that how the patience to stay in a particular pose plays a key role in encouraging the noncompetitive spirit of yoga. One of the most difficult, but ultimately most liberating things about yoga is letting go of the ego and accepting that no one is better than anyone else.

Earlier i never took Yoga so seriously except paying attention on whether its helping me in reducing my weight which was the only reason for me to start with yoga but slowly my involvement became deeper and deeper. During meditation sessions i didn't understand how can i stop thinking or visualizing the things which are happening next to me when i am practicing Yoga, how can i clean up my head space and just visualize what my instructor is asking me to, but we can actually do that and it comes only when we start incorporating the yoga practice in our life.

Now i look forward for more wonderful experiences with Yoga :)
